What makes IBSB such a special school is the simple fact that each and every child has an individual learning plan, with the teachers and parents working together in close partnership as a team to support each student in achieving their goals. All students are assessed upon entry using UK based assessment tools to accurately identify aptitude, being the current level and ability of each student, and attitude, to better understand what support and extension is needed to ensure that each student is working to their potential.
As a caring, supportive school, student wellbeing is very important to us. A wellbeing committee has been set up with students, staff, and parents all actively involved in the process of school development. We also have a strong pastoral care programme in place with new students buddied up with current students to help them settle in, and student and staff mentors assigned to provide additional support where needed. Form Tutors, Key Stage Coordinators, Pastoral Care Coordinators and Student Counselors are all on campus to help support students, to provide a caring supportive learning environment for all.

Respect, tolerance, creativity, and independent learning are a priority at IBSB as we understand that a good education is not only about exam results, but also about building character and the emotional and social development of our children.
Extracurricular enrichment is built into all areas of the school curriculum, including day trips, residential trips, a comprehensive club programme, career guidance, work experience opportunities, and university applications support in the upper senior school, and interschool sporting competitions, all in addition to normal academic class work.
